The Awards will honor the excellence of individuals and organizations that have pushed the boundaries of excellence in the following categories:

1.
Mobile Application of the Year 2013
 
Award Criteria:
 
This award shall be offered to an individual or start-up company (of not more than 5 persons) having demonstrated technical, commercial and business model innovation in the development of mobile apps that benefit consumer or enterprise users with new levels of functionality, access, value and convenience.
 
The entry must be for mobile application which is already available on the Apple Store, Google Play or the Windows Store and should be compatible with iPhone, iPad, Android or Windows devices.
 
The functionality of the entry may include but not limited to the best mobile application built to:
 
§  deliver content;
§  news or other medium used as a utility on smart phones and tablets that impact how consumers interact with their devices to drive better efficiencies in technology;
§  provide possibilities for e-marketing and entertainment.
 
 
 
Winner:
A Shield plus a cash price of Rs.50,000/-
 
 
Runner Up:
A Shield plus a cash price of Rs.25,000/-

Website of the Year 2013
 
Award Criteria:
 
This award shall be awarded to a website which has demonstrated outstanding performance and success in the past twelve months bearing the following:
 
§  a well-conceived, well-developed design that serves the purpose of the site;
§  present content in an appealing and engaging way and show clear relevance to their target audience.  Feature and functionalities that provide information in innovative and useful ways;
§  ensures the usability, accessibility, and cross-platform compatibility of the site in terms of design quality that affords professionalism to the enterprise;
§  good development, interactivity and adherence to standards compliance that eases site maintenance and upgrade woes.

Young IT Person of the Year 2013 (under the age of 25)
 
Award Criteria:
 
This award recognises the outstanding contribution of an individual under the age of 25 to the ICT Industry in Mauritius. 
§  This individual must have made significant contribution to the community by developing a relevant application, service or product and inspired the young generation;
§  impact of the developed solution or product and evidence of efforts driving use and uptake of this service.
 
 
Winner:
A Shield plus a cash price of Rs.50,000/-
 
 
Runner Up:
A Shield plus a cash price of Rs.25,000/-
4.
Outsourcing Company of the Year 2013
 
Award Criteria:
 
This award recognises an exceptional voice or non-voice outsourcing company having demonstrated deep sectoral knowledge and experience, an ability to engage with and understand not only a client's business model, but also outlook and ethos. The winner will be shown to have not only a firm grasp of the latest technologies with which to deliver such services but also demonstrate best practice, good governance and fitting security for all of its clients as well as:
§  creating and sustaining a competitive advantage;
§  providing business transformation;
§  achieving value;
§  benefiting both buyer and service provider over time.

ICT Innovative Solutions Provider 2013
 
Award Criteria:
 
This award distinguishes an outstanding ICT company which has demonstrated growth in the industry and remained competitive in an ever-changing business environment. The winning organisation:
 
§  is able to offer a unique application, product or service to its clients;
§  uses technology innovation to simplify customer-oriented products or services;
§  demonstrates market leadership and business growth through innovative solutions.

Technopreneur Excellence Award 2013
 
Award Criteria:
 
This Award shall be presented to an outstanding ICT start-up company. The contenders of this award will be evaluated based on the following key criteria:
 
§  demonstrated leadership in new product introduction and innovation;
§  investments in R&D/long term business commitment;
§  customer adoption or success of the application/product;
§  revenue growth;
§  key features of application/product/service;
§  impact on traditional products and services;
§  a proven track record in establishing and playing a significant role in growing the company to a respectable level of success in the last three years; and
§  the application/product/service offered that made a difference or revolutionized the industry/country.
 
 
 
Winner:
A Shield plus a cash price of Rs.50,000/-
 
 
Runner Up:
A Shield plus a cash price of Rs.25,000/-

ICT Organisation Excellence Award 2013 – Public Sector
 
Award Criteria:
 
This Award shall be presented to an outstanding organisation in the public sector that has successfully utilised ICT to run the operation of its organization effectively and improve efficiency.  The winning organisation:
 
§  must be able to demonstrate the impact of ICT on the organisation in terms of restructuring, or business strategy to grow market share (for example, effective development and implementation of a new business model);
§  will be evaluated based on the way it adopts its strategy; allocates and improves its resources; and implements and integrates ICT which contributes to the effective operation of the organisation.

ICT Organisation Excellence Award 2013 – Private Sector
 
Award Criteria:
 
This Award shall be presented to an outstanding organisation in the private sector that has successfully utilised ICT to run the operation of its organization effectively and improve efficiency.  The winning organisation:
 
§  must be able to demonstrate the impact of ICT on the organisation in terms of restructuring, or business strategy to grow market share (for example, effective development and implementation of a new business model);
§  will be evaluated based on the way it adopts its strategy; allocates and improves its resources; and implements and integrates ICT which contributes to the effective operation of the organisation.

ICT Personality of the Year 2013
 
Award Criteria:
 
This Award will be conferred to an individual that has demonstrated exemplary growth and performance in the ICT industry in the year 2013 in Mauritius.  The contenders of this Award will be evaluated based on the following key criteria:
 
§  history of serving the industry;
§  contribution to the ICT industry as a whole in terms of prominence and visibility;
§  leadership, risk-taking, vision, or decision that has served as a catalyst for market growth, sustaining market share, and/or company image;
§  leadership that increased value as perceived by the stakeholders (for example, consumers, suppliers, shareholders, and among others); and
§  operational excellence.
 
 
 
Winner:
A Shield plus a cash price of Rs.50,000/-
 
 
Runner Up:
A Shield plus a cash price of Rs.25,000/-
 
 
 
 
Special Note:
 
(a) Institutions under the aegis of the Ministry of ICT are not eligible to participate.
 
(b) Organisations/individuals may participate in more than one category.
